February: Mo’ Money Less Problems

The last couple weeks have been very busy for RTP.

The second year team-led flip cup tournament at BDP was a blast, and raised over $150 for Right to Play, while the RTP Senior Team held an Olympics Night at Gerts which raised over $700, all #forthekids. Our second annual play day at Vezina School also went off without a hitch. Both the children and right to Play members had a blast, crab soccer was especially popular. Finally, Right to Play’s first ever “go skateless tournament” was also a winner. Participants played hockey on an ice rink with only their boots to raise awareness and funds for children who do not have shoes and safe places to play.

After all that action, Right to Play decided it was time to relax with a “karma class” at Moksha Yoga. Participants got some Sunday stress relief before the start of the school week and helped out a great cause at the same time.

As usual, Right to Play has plans for the rest of the semester in the works.

Look out for:

-       A special Right to Play coffee service during exams

-       Our annual Dodgeball tournament

-       Party For the Kids 2.0

-       The annual Social Network Showdown

We’d love to have you at all of our events. Also, if you’re interested in joining one of our wonderful Right to Play teams there is always time.

Here are our meeting times:

-       First Years: Wednesdays at 6pm in the Gym Cafeteria

-       Second Years: Tuesdays at 8pm in the New Rez games room

-       Third and Fourth Years: Tuesdays at 7pm in the Gym Cafeteria

Have a safe and enjoyable spring break from everyone at Right to Play!

Update: Winter 2014

Hey all!

It’s been a while since our last update so there’s a lot to share!

Fall proved to be a great semester for Right to Play with some very successful events. Both the spin-a-thon and Right to Party went off without a hitch once again the apartment crawl was a hit. With 10 teams participating, this event is becoming a popular mainstay in the yearly schedule. Be sure to sign your team up when it comes around again next year.

With all fundraising included McGill students for Right to Play raised over $11 000!

A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped out with events throughout the semester.

Fall is behind us now, but we’re not afraid of the cold. There’s a lot in the works at RTP McGill headquarters right now.

Events to watch out for this semester include:

-       McGill Students for Right to Play Flip Cup Tournament (January 30th)

-       Right to Play Day (February 3rd)

And much more!

Keep an eye on your Facebook for our event pages!

Back and Better Than Ever!

Welcome back! Summer is over, a new school year is starting and Right To Play McGill is ready. With a promising year ahead of us we are proud to announce a few interesting items that are coming up in the near future, as well as some new developments regarding member involvement.

We are excited to start up the new school year with three individual committees for the first time in Right To Play McGill history. Along with the executive team, our first, second and upper year teams are meeting in order to plan a year that will build on the success of over $20 000 that was raised last year by McGill’s Right To Play organization alone.

Upcoming events that you can still get involved in include:

* Spin-a-thon (October 2nd)

* Apartment Crawl (October 5th)

This is just a taste of what you’ll be getting this year from Right To play. If you’re interested in getting involved we’re always looking for volunteers to contribute their time and ideas.

Be sure to check out the “Get involved” section of the website and click the “Become a member” tab for updates regarding meeting times and how to become a part of this year’s action at Right to Play McGill.
